Capo - Learn Music by Ear App Recensioni

Molto buona

Capo

I really hadn’t used Capo. I was messing with it and…It’s pretty good.

Such a valuable tool!!

I grew up dropping the needle over and over to learn guitar parts and solos. It was painstaking and difficult but that was the way we did it. Today, Capo makes the process of learning parts seamless and so easy — input the source material, take control of tempo, key, etc and set up regions for looping, all of which takes seconds to do. Amazing. Also a great tool for developing original music.

NO DARK MODE ICON.

NO DARK MODE ICON. ADD IT.

Great idea horrible execution

Waste of the subscription price. Ive been paying for years, got a new ipad and it won't restore the purchase. Still works on my mac

Why

Why i need to pay just to do a loop🥲

Para mi la mejor app que se ha creado como herramienta de trabajo y estudio para los músicos, estudiantes o profesionales de cualquier nivel y género musical.

Not with monthly.

It is a tragedy how app makers have got into the way of thinking that they can make novelty app and then acquire a huge subscribership. One time purchase with upgrade options for later purchase is still a viable revenue stream for Capo. For instance if one million people payed a one time purchase of $50 that would be 50 million. But 100people times 29$ a month is 2900 monthly a perfect amount for a california lease payment. There are far more people willing to pay $50 one time over the very few people who will want an exorbitant monthly charge. This is not a critical app to pay the amounts they are asking unless your use of the app to help you keep your job. But alas it’s a novelty luxury app for a niche of guitar players that want to play music that is sometimes not accessible by the ultimate guitar app and it’s vast tablature data base. The extra feature of the app exluded from non paying users is not worth the hundreds and thousands a year. Capo is a little full of themselves and they won’t get the money they could have as long as they see themselves as valuable as photoshop is to photo editors. Ps ive used this app for years since 2018 and I love it. But capo also wouldn’t recognize my purchase and wouldn’t let me stay grandfathered in so basic features I used for years got turned off when my phone was updated and apple forced the download of their newest version. Don’t look for too many new innovations cause the lack of subscribership won’t be paying for it. My phone shows an original purchase date Dec 2 2018 and Capo will not honor my early adoption and I am cut off from even the most basic features. I am baffled. My energy in this post could have been raving in favor, but regrettably I will say it’s sad that they won’t follow their own policy of grandfathering in original users.

Love it.

Best tool for learning I have ever used.

Fantastic learning tool

This is one of the best and most useful apps for learning songs I’ve ever used. Only problem, which I hope gets fixed soon, is it keeps hanging up or freezing so I can’t get out of the current song. I then have to shut down my iPad and relaunch it to move forward within the app. Otherwise, it would have a 5 star rating.

Not authorizing

I purchased the app years ago. It’s good. Couldn’t detect chords well for some of my jazz compositions that brought me to Berklee. I liked it for practicing and quickly getting pop chords. I just revived my iPad. The App Store showed it ready for download. I had not used the app in a few years, but saw it in my purchases. But now is asking me to get a subscription, it won’t re-authorize my purchase. Got it from App Store Thank you for your help

Simply Outstanding

I’ve been a user of this for years now. Can’t imagine doing without it so they better keep supporting this thing. If I need to subscribe , I’ll subscribe. It’s that good. For someone as musically challenged as I am, this is the only thing that gives me hope of learning new tunes. I can transcribe Warp speed Chris Thile solos and catch every note. Can’t play it that fast but hey, I got it transcribed. Tremendous power to manipulate the songs to your comfort level and to isolate the part you want to work on. And all on my phone. Thanks very much folks.

Stellar App

Papers extraordinarily is full for anybody who has written and recorded something and wants to find out how they played it previously or just to learn other songs by other people that you have no idea how it is written. I find Capo to be most useful when writing songs when i am spitballing and am just freely improvising chord progressions and want to know what i played. It would be nice to have a monthly fee option as well Perhaps $1.99 - $2.99/mo.

Doesn’t work as advertised

I got this app to learn popular songs, but it only works with audio files on your device, not syncable with streaming services. Disappointed, but at least I didn’t pay to find that out.

Didn’t I already pay for this??

Now I have to subscribe? No freaking way.

Confounded

iPhone and iPad are different.

Have this app on my iPhone and iPad. The iPhone seems to upload more songs and albums from my music library, though the music library on my iPad is the same as the iPhone.

Can’t stand subscriptions

I am pretty sure I paid for this at some point, I have the desktop version as well. I certainly don't mind paying for upgrades when new features are released. But removing functionality and putting it behind a subscription model is one way for sure to lose me as a customer. I am thinking that is what has happened here. I went to see if I could rescan a song I did a long time ago (it did a poor job the first time around) and it warned me that I would lose the saved changes unless I subscribed… OK, time to look for something else that can do this trick. I only use it very rarely to try to figure out chord progressions on my own songs that I recorded long ago and forgot to document, so I can always just do a little more work and NOT pay a crazy subscription. Oh well.

Great app for transcription but no Spotify support.

Great features and tools for transcription. One major issue is that it’s not integrated with Spotify or Tidal. The reason given for that is not clear either. They should just offer it as an in-app purchase at least.Amazing Slow Downer is integrated with Spotify. This is frustrating because I have to pay for a track first on iTunes Store in order to use Capo.

Perfect!

It gives me the power that I desperately needed: jamming with original audio! The app is really practical and easy.

New Tamil slangs mp3

Hi

Very disappointed

It can’t even get the cords right . It need a lot of work . And you need to add note Recognition and where it’s able to pick out every single instrument and be able to edit them . Being a musician I can distinguish every thing that is going on and what instruments is playing what . It don’t even include bass . If this is the best that can be done .. there is no use for AI .

New structure and chords == cat’s pajamas

Update: 2020/10/29: This maybe helpful for people starting out using the CAPO TOUCH APP. I have discovered that with the newest additions to CAPO, namely the Structure and Chord Views, that CAPO can become an extremely good workflow tool in the song learning process. BEFORE these new PRO features were added to CAPO TOUCH: I would use multiple tools to learn songs. For example I would load a song into a good “slow down” application to listen and/or play along with the song, like a fancy metronome. BUT I would also use some of kind of chord chart tool to manually input chords and make some kind of chart I could read. But with the Capo Touch PRO you can now do both at once. PLUS you can "play along" with the chord view. HERE is is a quick description about how I now use Capo Touch: : 1. First import a song into Capo. This is a rough draft because very few songs import exactly. 2. Go into the Structure view and listen to the song. Break the song into section. (Intro, Verse, Chorus, Bridge, Outro/Tag, etc.) 3. NOW review the Chords in Chord view. You can often visually find identify chord progressions or patterns between the sections. Sometimes auto-identified chords might be different between similar sections when they should be consistent. You can correct as needed. Personally I prefer to add the chords even if they are repeated in the next measure. So instead of seeing: "|C||G||Am||" you would see "|C|C|G|G|Am|Am|". Some people prefer that and some people prefer to not see repeated chords. In some songs I like to put at least two chords per measure.. because a lot of songs will change chords only once in a measure. So instead of "|C| G|" or even "|C|C G|"… I prefer seeing: "|C C|C G|". This is just a personal preference, but I find that the songs "line up" more consistently and give a more pleasing visual appearance. (CAPO TOUCH DEVELOPERS: It would be nice if there was a option to force the application to add at least one note per measure if desired.) Note that the above steps might be easier to learn if you use a song where you have the sheet for a song the first few times you do it. You can't print the CHORD view; but that would be VERY nice. After I have “processed” a song I will often listen to music using CAPO touch; and watch the CHORDS view even if I'm not practicing. When you properly edit the chords it is kind of fun to just watch and "see" the music. KEEP in mind that final goal is to play WITHOUT using a "crutch". But I have found these new updates to CAPO TOUCH to be very useful. ANOTHER nice update: It would be nice if you could specify the start of the actual song... and then have CAPO TOUCH "re-process" the chord recognition logic for the entire song after you specify that new start location. Because sometimes the system will not always recognize the proper start. You can manually move the chords… so it is not “required”.

Best guitar learning app ever!!!

i started using this app about 15yrs ago when Capo 1st started up , hey Chris! i remembered how Capo taught me every detail and aspect of learning many hard acoustic bluegrass songs , now I have electric guitars , Yes Capo builds your self-esteem as well.. Them songs trip you up? No problem ...slow it down for timing or hearing that right note at the right time & place, too …improving your guitar speed/rhythms. This app does so much way more .. And forget about using any expensive guitar teachers because your self teaching yourself with this. Well I'm happy to be back again to learn even more difficult guitar songs after my long hiatus away from my guitars ..

you can't access your itunes library

I have used Amazing Slower Downer and saw this come up thinking I could access any of the songs in my itunes..... wrong! unless I am wrong someone please correct me.

Capo

I would like to have the ability to switch to advanced chords. thanks

Give it a good look.

I lost my overlong, detailed assessment here just before publishing it & won’t try to recreate it in exasperation, will instead just say: A slowdown app with region loops & more. Give this app some attention. It is well-designed, has some nice features. There is a lot here whether you are learning songs entirely by ear, aided by guitar tab, in std tuning or in some of the most frequently altered tunings, or are left-handed. Can also apply to more instruments than guitar.

Lame Subscription Update

I’ve been using capo for a long time. A LONG TIME. Now with the subscription I’ve lost my ability to save regions for practicing different songs and solos. I am NOT subscribing for functionality I previously had with capo.

This App Grows with You

If all you want to do is slow down a tune you are trying to learn and find the key and chords, this app will do it easily. But the more you know about music, the more uses you will discover, as you explore its sophistication. Capo Pro is a real bargain. If I were tasked with improving this app, I would start with a more organized and detailed user guide to match its innovative structure and potential.

Useful... but

You mean to tell me that an app that I purchased is asking me to subscribe to get updates to functionality? Something stinks here.

Waste

They ignore you and they don’t want to help you. Horrible subscription... app ruined.

Tone deaf

Capo is supposed to be able to detect chords to songs and when I read that I thought it would be the right chords but I was thinking like a fool. The slow down feature is the only usable feature of this app. Update: after the recent update Capo did recognize the the first chord of AC/DC Highway to Hell but after that it totally failed. Good thing they named it Capo instead of Capable.

Easily the best tool out there

As a music professor, professional musician and tutor, this software has exceeded any other form of ear training and transcription tool out there! I have analyzed Jazz solos, composition and have been able to transcribe elusive chords and sonorities with the spectrum analyzer. By far and away this tool has increased my own musicality triple fold. Absolutely worth every penny if you are a serious musician and professional.

Why subscription? I bought this app. Idiots application.

Why subscription? I bought this app $9.99. Idiots application

Somewhat misleading

Program works great. Calling a required subscription after the trial period is over isn’t an in-app purchase that adds value to a free program.

Make the Play Button Larger

Please.

App Doesn’t Recognize Subscription

I originally really enjoyed Capo. I think it’s one of the better tools for transcription. But I have since encountered a bug in the app that prevents me from using it in any meaningful way. This is why I have rated it 1 star. Here’s my issue: I have a Capo touch Pro subscription, but the Capo app will only let me play a 60-second trial of the song I’m trying to transcribe. In the song playback mode it thinks I am a trial user. The app tells me that I have a current subscription—when I go to “Choose a Plan” under Settings it says as much—but it won’t let me listen to a song for more than 60 seconds. This makes the app unusable. I contacted Capo support, who was initially quite responsive but weeks later they still have not fixed the problem. I like this app, but I am very disappointed that I have spent money on an annual subscription that is currently getting wasted as time goes by where I cannot use it. I hope they fix the problem soon so I can use the remainder of my annual subscription.

A MUST for jazz drummers!

I have used this app for years. It has been a “Game Changer” in helping jazz drummers hear the rhythms, drums, and sticking of solos by slowing the tempo down. The app is great because it maintains the sound quality like no other app.

Ihopeyougobroke

Subscription services are lucrative for developers, I guess. But, for the user I have to decide which apps to subscribe to (if any) and which ones I have to quit using because I can’t afford a subscription for every app I use. I don’t mind buying an app at all, but having to pay an annual fee is just beyond my means. And so, I will switch my slow-down app to something else other than Capo because they, at some point, will go to the next version (x.x or Y.x or whatever) and I will be left in the dust having to subscribe again to enjoy some minor tweak of the app. If every developer ends up with subscription requirements I will just have to abandon my support for them all. How many $50, $20, $75, $20, $40, $20, $25 services can you afford? For me it’s not many and so I just stop using an app that thinks their product should charge me a monthly or annual fee to use it!! There are plenty of alternatives out there. The smart developer should appreciate their customer’s PURCHASE of an app, like I did with Capo years ago, to support their further development of the app. They should take into consideration that users will have to decide which apps to keep or which apps to abandon. The less used apps I have will be the first to go. And, Capo falls into that category as there are many alternatives that don’t require a subscription fee after purchase.

Useless

Used Capo for many years with my laptop but this is useless. Cant even add 1 song to try before buying it.

Free Version is No Version at All

The free version of this otherwise promising program is so useless that I don’t even get a good sense of what the pro version would improve. I despise this sort of “in app purchase” silliness when the product does absolutely nothing otherwise. Rather than driving me to upgrade, I’ve decided to never use a product so cynically marketed. Uninstalling...NOW.

half of nothing is still only nothing

seriously? why did you bother if you don’t understand. at all ?? thanks tho 🙏🏼 the intentions were obviously good but musicians are not rich enough for this especially if it’s worthless to begin with. geez. you play ? i didn’t think so.

Love this app - it’s a big timesaver

This is the fastest way I’ve found to quickly get basic chord changes and beat counts from MP3s. Can also set up loops to keep going over tough parts. Nice. Uses iCloud storage to save your files and save specs on the device. Which I like. Development team responds to emails and questions. Which I like. Disclaimer....No app that does chord recognition is perfect. You may still need to have some musical expertise to fill in some missing pieces. But this one is as good as any and better and faster and easier than others I’ve used. Me recommend you buy dis

Terrible Transition to New Version

I’ve purchased and used Capo for years. Now they want me to cough up a bunch of money every month or year to use the same app I already bought! The restore purchases conveniently doesn’t work in this latest version, so I’m out of luck unless I decide to pay. I’ll be switching to another app, thanks Capo.

Good but could be GREAT

I love this app, but HATE that you can only use songs you’ve bought from iTunes. I can’t use ALL the songs I’ve bought from iTunes dating all the way back to 2006 or songs that I burned off my CD’s when I converted everything to digital.

FANTASTIC !

I use this app every day for teaching and my own practice. I don’t know how I lived without it ! Well, I do know: it was cumbersome and aggravating. This app does everything : slow down , change keys, loop. I love it.

Just arrived not impressed

I thought this had something to do with decoding hard solos I guess it does just slow down things a bit but why Is 90% of my catalog denied and I only have a blank screen is I’m trying to load a song?

Won’t work

App crashes every time I try to add a song from my music library. 😞 I haven’t been able to use it once.

Malfunction

The app crashes everytime I click on browse music library. Is this a recent bug?
